It was only a matter of time, but Borderlands 2 has been officially announced. The cover of September's issue of Game Informer features the game in all of its bloody, cell-shaded glory. The issue gives a small nugget of info about what to expect when the game is released on 360, PS3, and PC sometime next year.
"Don’t expect just a couple bazillion more guns this time around. Gearbox is introducing new and more diverse environments, smarter and more powerful enemies, and an improved mission system capable of delivering a better story."
Gearbox has also confirmed that the game will make appearances at PAX Prime as well as Gamescom.
As someone who spent countless hours playing the first game, all of these details sound pretty exciting, especially the "better story" part, which was almost non-existent in the previous game. Time to set aside more money in the piggy bank for games I'll buy next year.
